Gadelha’s mother, Camila, confirmed to the New York Post that her daughter was co-piloting the twin-engine aircraft when it took off from Austin, Texas, bound for the Bahamas.
The harrowing incident was caught on camera, which showed the private jet nose-diving into the ground and erupting into an enormous fireball.
“It looked like a missile going down. It left a big crater,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said.
A chilling audio recorded the cockpit’s final moments before the plane smashed straight into the ground.
Gadelha could be heard shouting over the mayday call, “We are in an overspeed condition, descending 20,000ft per minute.”
“We’re descending 8,000 – mayday, mayday, – we’re descending 10,000ft per minute.”
Gadelha’s male co-pilot, who has not been identified, was reportedly heard saying the Lord’s Prayer during the distress call.
A male’s voice appeared to be saying, “Who are in heaven, hallowed to be the name,” while Gadelha is heard screaming, “We’re going to crash into the ground.”
“Holy f**k we’re out of time,” she said before the audio from the Learjet went silent.
